Ministries, Activities and Service Opportunities
                at Holland Heights Church

Worship Services                     
  • At our Sunday 10:00am Worship Celebration and the 6:00pm Praise and Worship Service
    you are welcomed as one of the family of God. We may have differences, but we all have one
    thing in common... we all need Jesus. The music is worshipful, using both traditional and
    contemporary songs. Drama, video and other arts are also utilized to bring a clear Biblically
    based message. Transportation, hearing aids and signing are available.

Bible Study & Education (Adult Discipleship)
    
  • Women in the Word meets Tuesday Morning at 9:45am for informal Bible study, friendship,
    and sharing. All women, their friends and neighbors are invited.
    Story Hour & Little Lambs for
    ages 2-1/2 to 5 with stories, organized crafts and play time along with a nursery for babies are provided.
    Women in the Word also meets Wednesday as a Family night activity with nursery provided.
  • Tuesday Noon Bible Study is an in depth and unique study of Old Testament
    scripture led by Pastor George De Jong.
  • Wednesday Family Night activities meet September through April. The evening begins
    with dinner at 6:15pm. Small groups, speakers and Youth programs meet after dinner
    at 6:45pm or 7:00pm. Heights Nights Detailed Schedule
  • Men's Life Bible Study and discussion meets Friday morning at 6:30am.
  • Small Group Bible Studies and Care Circles meet regularly as the group decides for
    fellowship, sharing, support, Bible study and prayer.
  • Our Library of books, cassettes and VCR tapes for adults and children is available to
    everyone. It is attended after each Sunday morning worship service for assistance.
    Audio cassettes and DVD's of all services are available.

Outreach, Evangelism & Missions
Music & the Arts
    
  • Friendship Children's Choir provides a group singing opportunity and activities on
    Wednesday evenings at 6:45pm for 3 year olds through 1st grade as part of Family Night.
  • Worship Choir is for anyone, high school age and older, who desire to assist in the
    enhancement of our worship services. Rehearsals are on Sundays at 4:30pm as announced.
  • Praise Team is a group that enjoys singing to lead our worship services. Rehearsals
    are Wednesdays at 7:00pm.
  • Praise Band/Orchestra is a group of instrumentalists who play periodically for worship
    times and to accompany vocal groups.
  • Seasonal Musicals are presented periodically giving an opportunity for children and
    adults to use their talents in praise to God.
  • Handbell Choir groups are available for adults as well as 4th graders and older.
    Group formation and practice times are announced in the weekly bulletin.
  • Drama and Liturgical Dance Groups bring additional meaning to our services.
  • Audio/Visual Tech Team prepares presentations and operates the A/V equipment during our services.
  • Accompanists & other Special Music are used to provide music during worship services.

Children & Youth             
Visitation, Pastoral & Caring
            
  • The Pastors, Elders and Deacons visit the sick, elderly and shutins to show love, care
    and compassion from the family of God.
  • Our Stephen Ministry offers trained and supervised lay caregivers who provide one-to-one
    Christian hope, support and encouragement to hurting people.
  • A pastoral visit or discussion is available to anyone. No church connection necessary.
  • Pastoral counseling for pre-marital, marital, and personal concerns is available.
  • Our church supports the Pine Rest Counseling Assistance Program which provides
    professional counseling for a wide range of personal concerns initially at no cost.
  • Our Deacons offer kindness and compassion for special financial and physical needs by providing:
    - Meals, child care and household help utilizing the Care Persons and Care Districts.
    - A Food Pantry which is coordinated by Heights of Hope.
    - Financial Budget Counseling in conjunction with Good Samaritan Ministries.
    - Christian School tuition assistance.
    - Transportation for services or meetings organized through the Congregational Care
    Committee
    . This is available by contacting the church office.
    - Monetary gifts from our thank offerings to many benevolent causes and organizations.
  • Deacon's are involved in the Holland Deacons' Conference which executes community
    projects including Christian Adult Foster Care, Domestic Violence Shelter, Transitional
    Housing, Christian Child Care and the community Crop Walk in April.
